Otto
D. Grove, Jr.,
citizen of Marble Falls, Texas, aged 68, moved from this world on September
19, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Shirley Grove, and
his three children: Claire, Elaine and Charles. Architecture had been
his lifelong passion, which lead him to serve his community and the
state of Texas. He was awarded a degree in architecture at the University
of Texas at Austin in 1959, worked as an architect in private practice
in Florida and Texas, and with the Texas Education Agency. His focus
in educational facility planning brought him to CEFPI, and it was this
dedication which lead CEFPI to honor him with a Distinguished Service
Award in 1998 and CEFPI Southern Region Planner of the Year in 1996.
His expertise and gentle spirit were well known in his fellowship within
the CEFPI, the American Institute of Architects, the Rotary Club and
in communities all around Texas.
